  • In short, yes. But planning is about much more than assets. It's about making sure you have a say over who makes crucial decisions - about your healthcare and your finances - if you were to become incapacitated. It's about designating who will raise your child if needed, and making sure your child stays out of state protection. And yes, a plan is also making sure the tangible assets you have worked so hard to build are passed to your loved ones in a responsible, age-appropriate manner, and not lost through taxes or otherwise.

  • New Parent Law will work with you to identify your priorities and identify a plan that fits within your budget to honor those goals. You can get a plan in place now and the build upon it over the years.

  • Everyone needs a plan regardless of minor children or tangible assets. You should be the one deciding who makes decisions for you - not the state or individuals you wouldn't want involved.

  • Once you and New Parent Law have identified the plan you would like to implement, you will be billed as we draft the plan. This will be a flat rate, so there aren't surprises down the road. Most clients choose to pay with credit card.

  • Yes, absolutely. We understand you’re busy living your life and may not be able to meet us in-person. We’ll work with you via Zoom and can even arrange for you to sign your documents remotely, if necessary.

*Please note: NPL is licensed to practice law in Colorado and thus clients must be residents or domiciled in the State of Colorado.

  • If you're in a partnership but not legally joined, you have all the more reason to set up a plan; particularly if you would want your partner to be making decisions in the case of your incapacity. We'll discuss your unique family situation, and what may make sense, including planning together or separately.
